ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

My name is Tyrene (but please call me “Ty”) Benjamin, and I’m a native of New Jersey, grew up in South Carolina, and currently reside in Virginia with my husband, Ernest, a gospel preacher, and two beautiful children.

I’m a former Cardiac Rehab Exercise Physiologist, bariatric health coach, and personal trainer for women turned stay-at-home, homeschooling mom who speaks at ladies' events and creates devotionals and other Bible study tools for moms.

I’m big on faith, family, and personal growth so I’m usually focusing on one of these three areas of my life. I believe it’s my life’s purpose to serve God, my family, and others by using the talents and resources I’ve been blessed to receive.

MY MISSION

My mission is to strengthen, empower, and equip Christian moms to:

1.) IGNITE their faith in God

2.) INVEST in themselves and

3.) IMPACT their home, positively.

I’m here to help you embrace personal growth and joyfully pursue a God-centered, hope-filled life. A life that not only maximizes your potential but also builds your confidence and creates an authentic, loving home for your family.

Whether you’re navigating through life’s messes or stewarding its blessings, it’s time to intentionally pursue the growth that will shape you into the mom God created you to be. Together, let’s step into the fullness of His plan and become the women He’s called us to be.

MY JOURNEY SO FAR...

I received my degree in Exercise Science from the University of South Carolina (Columbia), and I’ve worked in the health and fitness industry for over 15 years.

I’ve worked with several organizations as a fitness expert, won awards for my service, and served as an Internship Coordinator with the Exercise Science departments of the University of South Carolina and Middle Tennessee State University.

I worked part-time after my son was born in 2013, but after having my daughter in 2017, I became a full-time, stay-at-home mom.

And my transition from the corporate world to staying at home was in one word – CHALLENGING!

Friend, I struggled!

It wasn’t that I didn’t believe in the decision to stay home . . . I knew it was the right thing to do for my family and me.

It wasn’t that I was afraid that I wouldn’t be a good homemaker or homeschooler . . . I thought it was in my wheelhouse.

I struggled with the mental adjustments required to stay home. I wrestled with the feelings and thoughts that I:

couldn’t contribute financially,

had to make certain sacrifices to live off of one income,

no longer held a position of influence being out of the workplace (boy was I wrong about this),

would no longer be able to use my gifts and talents,

would be unfulfilled, bored, lonely, and miserable because “I was just a mom and wife.”

Then came homeschooling in 2017.

I’ll be honest and say that homeschooling was not initially my idea – it was my husband’s.

I was busy looking at the public school options available to us in our neighborhood when he quickly let me know that he did not intend to send our children away to school.

I’ll admit that my first reaction to this news was not the best as homeschooling was very foreign to me, my family, and my upbringing.

Where we’re from…there is NO homeschooling…or at least we didn’t know of any homeschooling families.

2017 was the beginning of a very enlightening journey into the world of homeschooling, and I’m so glad we did it!

I truly thank God for space and time to grow in Christ and as a wife, mom, homeschooler and homemaker.

I had to embark on an intentional reworking of myself, and made conscious efforts to really self-access and dissect my thoughts, my attitude, my expectations, and my priorities.

Being honest with myself, I realized I was very “ME” focused, and couldn’t appreciate the beauty and blessing of staying home to take care of and to teach my family.

I finally understood the need to embrace and not resist this chapter in my life…to start enjoying the days and not just going through the motions.

I decided to break free from auto-pilot living and intentionally pursue spiritual and personal growth and development.

By studying the scriptures, I was able to have gratitude for my many blessings (Ps 9:1; I Thess 5:16-18; I Tim 4:4); be strengthened and encouraged (Matt 16:25; Isaiah 40:31; Ps 138:8; Phil 4: 11,13): and to appreciate the privilege of being a wife and mother (Prov 22:6; Prov 31:10-31; Matt 6:34; Ps 127:3; I Peter 5:6).

By communicating with my husband, I was reminded that the greatest work I could do is to work in my own home, and it’s at home where I can have the greatest influence and contribution.

By talking with other Christian moms, I gained support and encouragement to become the “heart” of my home, get outside of my comfort zone, create systems and routines that worked for my family, and strive to glorify and honor God daily.

Today, I navigate the beautiful chaos of marriage, parenting, ministry, and entrepreneurship, infusing each area with faith and intention.

As a devoted speaker and digital content creator, my passion lies in sharing the transformative power of intentional living and faith in God.

Join me on this journey where every day is an opportunity for growth, connection, and unwavering trust in God’s plan.
